We’ve undergone two Green Home Conservation Solar projects on our property. The initial one, back in 2018, involved installing a solar water heater on our barn’s roof, catering to our 35,000-gallon swimming pool. The second project, a 10.6 MWh solar electric (photovoltaic) system, was added to our home just a year ago in September 2020. Reflecting on our experience with Green Home Conservation Solar and their products, two aspects stand out.

Firstly, the meticulous quality of their work left a lasting impression. The attention to detail and effort invested in both installations was remarkable. The crews they deployed took the time to inspect their work thoroughly, expressing their commitment to maintaining project quality as if it were for their own homes. This dedication even garnered praise from the utility inspector.

Secondly, and crucially, the systems deliver on their promise. The pool heater, installed for our grandkids’ enjoyment, maintains a comfortable 88 to 90 degrees, making swimming a delight. The thermostat allows for temperature adjustments, but the initially mentioned range works best for the little ones. As for the solar electric system, one year into operation, the results align with Green Home Conservation Solar’s projections. With the exception of July and August, when I kept the house cooler, our only expense has been the utility company’s modest $16 monthly “connection” fee.
